Clarissa is named after Clarissas Vineyard,
one of the twenty vineyards that made up the original
Tizzana Estate. Dr. Thomas Fiaschi grew Hermitage
(Shiraz) and Petit Verdot grapes in this vineyard
which he named after his first daughter born in 1885.
The 2011 Clarissa is a a dry red blend made from hand-picked Shiraz (65%) and Petit Verdot (35%) grapes. Aged with American oak for 9 months. |
Tasting Notes: |
The aroma of the wine shows complex berry and spice notes with licorice and coconut characters. A medium bodied wine with an excellent integration of both grape and oak tannins. Will benefit with at least three to five years of cellaring. |
